The North Carolina Sustainable Business Council is a statewide coalition of businesses and business partners who have a passion for creating purpose-driven businesses. Founded in 2014, its membership represents businesses from a wide range of industries. We believe that together businesses have the power to influence business policies today that ensure long-term profitability, protect the environment, and sustain communities.

Supporting our Local Economies

NCSBC was created by business owners who know from experience that businesses become stronger when they support their local economies. In 2011, a conversation began among a diverse group of business owners representing a range of industries from farming and manufacturing to sustainable energy and retail.

People, Planet, Prosperity

Over the next two years, we kept meeting to hash out our ideas. In 2013, we reached out to partners and began advocating for businesses. In 2014, NCSBC was granted non-profit status and began to form its board.

NCSBC believes that when all our voices join together, we can demonstrate that sustainable businesses equal profitable businesses.

Our members connect with innovative businesses, thought leaders, and organizations to learn about sustainable business practices that address the triple bottom line: people, planet, and prosperity.

NCBC is the business advocacy organization that I wish had existed when I moved my business here from VA. Without an organization like NCBC, thoughtful business owners may have a sense that their voice is not being heard.
