How to Sustain Small Businesses During Economic Crisis: Virtual Roundtable

We invite you to join the North Carolina Business Council (NCBC) as we work to ensure that small companies are treated equitably as state leaders develop plans to rebuild our economy following this crisis.

We are already beginning to see signs that our Main Street businesses may suffer a similar fate as some of our rural communities did when they didn’t receive equitable financial support after the Great Recession. We, as business leaders, must work collaboratively to ensure that small local companies with fewer than 500 workers are given the same types of economic support as larger firms with thousands of employees.

For the past two months, the NCBC has been working closely with a group of national business organizations under the leadership of the American Sustainable Business Council and Michael Shuman, economist, author, and renowned expert on developing local economies. After much research, careful review of case studies, and passionate group discussions, we have drafted a detailed list of state and local recommendations to create state policies that economically sustain Main Street businesses.

We look forward to sharing our findings with you and welcome your input as well during this virtual roundtable discussion and (virtual) luncheon on Thursday, July 23, 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Bring your lunch. We will bring the rest.
